7. Clearwater arena and curling rink

The first curling rink in Clearwater was built around 1903 on the creek pond by setting posts down through the ice and packing straw to form the walls and roof. This early rink was destroyed by flood water in 1904. From 1905 though to the '30s four other rinks were built near the town, and in 1954 a modern community rink was built with a kitchen and waiting room on the site of the present rink.  The existing curling rink was built in 1975 and features the club room added in 1984, and artificial ice installed in 1989.
